The Four Core Skills

- Use: Apply information ethically and effectively to accomplish your goals
These skills apply in school, at work, and in everyday life. A doctor evaluating a new treatment, a voter researching candidates, and a student writing a paper all use information literacy.
Why It Matters More Than Ever
The internet has made more information available than at any point in human history — but it has also made it easier than ever to spread misinformation. Anyone can publish anything online. Without information literacy skills, it is easy to be misled by false, biased, or misleading content.
